Training
Argus Environmental specializes in creating custom occupational and environmental health and safety training programs in a variety of disciplines. Our goal, regardless of the type of training you may require, is to provide effective quality training that is informative, interactive and edifying.
The indoor environment in Texas is regulated for mold in commercial public buildings. These types of buildings include all structures that the general public has access to include offices, retail sales facilities, schools, and apartment buildings. Maintenance and repair workers, as well as management staff, should have a working knowledge of the Texas Department of State Health Services regulations regarding mold. In addition, training programs introduce employees to the Environmental Protection Agency’s guidelines regarding mold growth and its potential effects on building materials and occupants. Training also provides the employee with specific action plans on how to prevent mold growth indoors and the potential liability that can result once mold growth is established.
Asbestos has been a recognized hazard in the workplace for over 25 years. It is regulated at the federal level by both the Environmental Protection Agency and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Argus offers worker awareness training for maintenance and custodial employees working in public schools as required by the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA). In addition, awareness training is offered for workers and occupants of commercial buildings containing asbestos building materials. Training topics include the health effects of asbestos exposure, how to recognize potential asbestos containing building materials, how to use an asbestos operations & management plan, response actions to asbestos materials, and appropriate regulatory compliance actions.
Safety training is an ongoing and integral part of any industrial, manufacturing or construction operation. Argus Environmental is capable of working closely with a wide variety of clients to establish new training curricula or refurbish existing training programs with fresh perspectives and innovative techniques. Subjects can range over a wide variety of topics and typically address federal, state and local requirements. Each custom training program establishes a written record of completion for all existing team members and those individuals that are newly hired. Ultimately, training programs are designed to help the employer avoid potential litigation, violations, and reportable incidents.
